Bolivian Friends' highest priorities for strengthening the schools are to upgrade studies in English, computer skills, and science, because these are important for communication with the wider world. Additional priorities include increasing access to post-secondary education and improving necessary skills for thriving in the world in which Bolivian Quakers live. BQEF’s Instructional Enhancement program in the three Bolivian secondary schools begins with English and computer skills.

In both areas, the upgrade will involve teaching more classes per week, and the purchase and installation of necessary equipment. (See the Infrastructure Development page.) BQEF-funded computers are being installed in all three Bolivian Friends secondary schools. Computer class student-to-computer ratio has improved dramatically in the schools where installation is complete. The number of computer classes per week is being increased from one day per week, with an eventual goal of five times per week.

The Bolivian Quaker educators are enthusiastic about these vitally important improvements.
