BQEF Becarios* Sponsorship Plan
- The sponsoring Meeting agrees to contribute $600 annually through the completion of the student's course of study: $500 for the scholarship and $100 for administrative expenses in Bolivia and other overhead. The contribution can be paid annually, quarterly, or monthly, either by check or electronic transfer.
- The sponsoring Meeting will work with the US and Bolivian Coordinators to select a specific student to sponsor. Among the factors to consider is that the time required to complete the degree will vary from student to student.
- The student would need to have or immediately acquire an e-mail address.
- The sponsored student is expected to write to the Meeting, via the Meeting's contact person, on a monthly basis. Writing in Spanish is acceptable, in English is welcome. Each letter should focus on some part of the student's life, such as a description of their home, introduction to other members of the family, description of classes and career goals, discussion of their Meeting, or university class.
- The student is expected to make some effort to borrow a digital camera, so that photographs can occasionally be attached to the email letters.
- The sponsoring Meeting agrees to respond to each of these letters by sharing something about the activities of the Meeting and introducing one or two members of the Meeting to the Bolivian students, attaching photographs where appropriate of the meetinghouse or Meeting members. The Meeting should make some effort to have these letters in Spanish when they are transmitted.
These steps are designed to increase fellowship among Bolivian Friends and Friends in the North. Please contact Newton Garver at garver1928@aol.com or Vickey Kaiser at office@bqef.org for more information.
