AVP! Magaly’s Work Featured in Friends Journal

Magaly Quispe, one of our many BQEF graduates, has been doing outstanding Alternative to Violence projects for years in Bolivian prisons and schools.  She has gotten a great deal of support from prison authorities and school administrators in this work.  With Barbara Flynn's help, Magaly published an article in the August 2023 Friends Journal entitled, ”I Came To Serve.”

The article describes her work for over ten years now.  She now gets some support from Quaker Bolivia Link (UK) for prison garden projects, and from Waljok (the foundation headed up by Barbara Flynn) for AVP workshops and a student residence based on AVP principles.  Her AVP experience is also described on this website in the AVP section.  She is an outstanding example of the good work done by Quakers in Bolivia and shows the importance of supporting young Friends’ aspirations.  Our dollars go a long way in the Bolivian economy, so please contribute what you can.
