Danny Quispe Condori

Danny Quispe Condori

Danny is in her 3rd year of Nursing at the Universidad Mayor de San Andres (UMSA). She chose this career because she loves showing kindness while helping and caring for sick people. She enjoys the practicums her studies require, and is in the laboratory every morning and in the classroom for lectures most afternoons.

Danny initially wanted to become a doctor but due to the very high cost of that major decided to study nursing instead. Nursing is still an expensive major due to the fees for the practicums and the cost of materials for classes. Previously Danny was helped by her grandfather, but since his death she has had no financial support other than what her mother can spare. The scholarship will help her to fulfill her dreams and get very good grades to meet the requirements of her major.

During the week, Danny stays in a rented house in the city of La Paz, but goes home on weekends to her family in Achacachi, where they attend the Holiness church on Sundays. Her mother is a street vendor, her brother studies tourism in a rural area.

Danny plans to finish her Nursing degree and then obtain a graduate degree in the Medical Surgical specialty. She also wants to buy a home where she and her mother and brother can all live together, and to continue working in her church.

Danny's studies are sponsored by the Buffalo Monthly Meeting. To find out how you or your meeting can support a student's studies, please visit our Scholarships and Sponsorships page.
